Coming to a sky near you...Perseids Meteor Shower
Perseids Meteor ShowerAugust 12th, 13th 2009The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at their peak. This year's peak occurs on August 13th and 14th, but you may be able to see some meteors any time from July 23rd - August 22nd. The waning gibbous moon will provide some interference in the early morning, so the best viewing will be in the evening before it rises. The radiant point for this shower will be in the constellation Perseus. Look to the northeast after midnight.
