Things disappear

Amazing how some are stored in the memory or photographs long after the actual item is gone and one often wonders what happened to that object. Near me is Park University and had high on top of a hill an observatory that had been designated as the oldest observatory West of the Mississippi. Many times my high school astronomy club would make weekend visits. About a decade ago the 8" refractor telescope was removed and then the stone structure was demolished. Visits to the campus and discussions with people in the science department and even the city council provided no answer as to the history of the telescope. The mystery remains.

So too with the photograph above. It is basically a small observational [spotting type] telescope that was located on a Fred Harvey Restaurant lodge probably in Grand Canyon area. I wonder where that scope is now.
