The murder of Masoud Ali Mohammadi may not be resolved for years...if at all. The Tehran Times published:
The Supreme Leader issued a message on Friday to offer his condolences over the death of Masoud Ali Mohammadi, a professor of physics who was assassinated in a terrorist act in Tehran on Tuesday.
The enemies’ motive behind carrying out such acts is to undermine the country’s “scientific Jihad and movement”, but undoubtedly Iranian scientists and researchers will foil this vicious plan through their efforts, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated in his message.
The professor, Masoud Ali Mohammadi, was assassinated in a bomb attack in northern Tehran on Tuesday morning. He had just left his home when a bomb hidden in a motorcycle was detonated
Now before one gets too upset about the word "Jihad" remember that a lot of such statements are nationalistic, political rhetoric, religious posturing, and sabre rattling...and something basically not new and best compared with a similar situation in 19th Century America--Manifest Destiny. A "scientific Jihad"...no problem there.
